International Office
The International Office was established in 2005 to help coordinate
and assist international work undertaken within the Faculty of
Education and to explore and expand the range of international
opportunities available to Education faculty and students.
The International Office carries out five main functions:
- A communication function that involves information gathering,
dissemination and education about international opportunities for
Faculty and students, and communicating faculty and students' concerns
and suggestions to the departments or Dean's Office;
- A liaison function that means exchanging information and working
collaboratively with other university units such as University of
Alberta International and with governmental and nongovernmental
organizations to expand the Faculty's involvement in international
education;
- An outreach function that involves seeking out and expanding
research, project work and exchange opportunities between the Faculty
of Education and Faculties of Education in other countries;
- A reception function that means facilitating the needs of
international students, visiting scholars and delegations from other
countries;
- A research function that involves gathering and evaluating data on
international education, maintaining a current database of the
Faculty's involvement in international education, and preparing reports
on the results of Faculty initiatives in international education.
