Dean's Message

The work of a Faculty of Education has a direct bearing on society and its
future. We recognize that education programs must be transformative in nature promoting critical thinking, creativity, curiosity, and caring.

Our Faculty members take this mission seriously. We continue to hire gifted new Faculty members who join senior staff with world class research programs and the collaborative efforts of these scholars underpin our unprecedented research achievements. Our Undergraduate students thrive in an environment rich in research related to teaching and learning and they are increasingly able to become engaged in such research.

As Dean I am pleased to welcome you to our website and our Faculty. Our priorities encompass the cornerstones within the Dare to Discover vision, including talented people, learning discovery and citizenship, connecting communities and organization and support.

We take pride in the Faculty’s rich history in areas such as international collaboration, indigenous education, the integration of technology within education and curriculum and pedagogy. As we plan for the next few years we honor the history of our Faculty as we move from a firm foundation to develop bold and daring new initiatives. We look ahead with excitement and energy, and welcome opportunities to collaborate with colleagues and students from near and far.
