Graduate Scholarships and Awards
There are numerous scholarships and awards available to graduate students in the Faculty of Education. Many are offered by the Faculty of Education, while others are offered either by the University of Alberta or by external sources. Several scholarships and awards go unclaimed each year due to lack of applications, so students are encouraged to apply. Faculty of Education Awards
The following awards are administered through the Dean of Education’s Office.
- Bacchus Graduate Research Prize
- Bruce Bain Memorial Graduate Scholarship
- Camrose Normal School Memorial Scholarship in Education
- Mahatma Gandhi World Peace Graduate Scholarship
- Phi Delta Kappa Doctoral Dissertation Award
- Professor Mian Muhammad Afzal Graduate Scholarship

- M E Lazerte Memorial Graduate Scholarship
Contact your department for deadline. Funded by the Education Society of Edmonton. Awarded annually on the basis of academic standing and leadership potential to a student registered full-time in a graduate degree program in an education department within the Faculty of Education.
